We see Faith striding away with determination, a bag slung over her shoulder.
Xander hurries to catch up with her.

Faith: You don't get it. There's this thing I gotta do.
Xander: I'm not stopping you. But I'm not staying. Sometimes, you shouldn't be alone.
Faith: End of the day, you're always alone.

Time heals all wounds.

Night. Faith knocks on a vaguely familiar door in thoroughly suburban neighborhood.
It opens to reveal the tired and drawn face of a man who looks as though he hasn't had a good night's sleep in months.

A convenient lie we tell ourselves.

Man (V.O.): I KNOW who you are.

A little girl is staring up at Faith with naked admiration, a fact that is visibly making Faith extremely uncomfortable.

Man (V.O.): You took everything. And what did we get back?

Faith is about to learn the truth the hard way.

Man (V.O.): Nothing. You left us with nothing.

Head bowed, Faith stands in front of a gravestone.

Man (V.O.): What are we supposed to do now?

Fade to black. There's a long pause.

Faith (V.O.): Damned if I know.

There's the sound of shattering glass and an inarticulate, almost inhuman scream of rage.
It's soon drowned out by someone crying in agony.
